Mike Arias

Mike Arias is the founding and managing partner of Arias Sanguinetti Wang & Team LLP, with a distinguished reputation as a leader in trial law. Throughout his career, he has secured numerous groundbreaking case results, particularly in class actions and mass plaintiff cases. Perhaps his most notable achievement was his role as co-liaison counsel for the plaintiffs in the landmark University of Southern California (USC) case, representing over 700 women sexually assaulted by George Tyndall. Mr. Arias was instrumental in securing the historic $852 million settlement — the largest sexual abuse settlement in U.S. history and personal injury settlement against a university at the time. His leadership extends beyond individual cases to his impactful contributions to the legal community. As past president of both the Consumer Attorneys of California (CAOC) and the Consumer Attorneys Association of LA (CAALA), Mr. Arias has shaped the direction of two of the largest trial lawyer associations in the country in addition to his national work with American Association for Justice (AAJ) where he serves on the executive committee, which he has done for several years. His advocacy and commitment to civil justice have earned him countless recognitions, including California Lawyer of the Year (2022) by the Daily Journal and Trial Lawyer of the Year (2021) by CAOC. He has held leadership positions such as past president of the Westchester/Playa del Rey Neighborhood Council and the Westchester Family YMCA Board of Managers.
