About
I have 33 years of experience representing corporations, individuals, and municipalities in real estate, business, tort, and insurance litigation matters. I regularly appear in state and federal courts throughout California and am licensed to practice before the United States Supreme Court. I am "AV" rated by Martindale-Hubbell,* a peer-review designation for lawyers who have "reached the height of professional excellence...and are recognized for the highest levels of skill and integrity." Additionally, I have been named a "Southern California Super Lawyer" from 2009 to 2026. My trial experience includes cases involving public contracts, commercial contracts, partnership agreements, and real estate contracts; as well as business fraud, insurance coverage and bad faith, product liability, breach of fiduciary duty, and corruption of public officials. I earned my Juris Doctor degree from Loyola Law School Los Angeles (cum laude, 1993), where I was inducted into the Order of the Coif, a legal honor society that recognizes academic achievement. While at Loyola, I was also a member of the Loyola of Los Angeles International and Comparative Law Review. I am admitted in all state and federal District Courts in California, the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals, and the United States Supreme Court. I remain an active member of the California Bar, Los Angeles County Bar Association, San Fernando Valley Bar Association, and the American Inns of Court. Over the course of my career, I have presented legal seminars on litigation and trial practice topics and served as an adjunct professor of contracts law at the University of West Los Angeles School of Law. Published opinions include Minnesota Mutual Life Insurance Co. v. Ensley, 174 F.3d 977 (9th Cir. 1999); Stuart v. Unum Life Insurance Company of America, 217 F.3d 1145 (9th Cir. 2000); and Hub City Solid Waste Management, Inc. v. City of Compton, 186 Cal. App. 4th 1114 (2010).
