Alexis Katz Caughey

Alexis K. Caughey is a native Houstonian who graduated from Bellaire High School and went on to earn her BA in Government with Honors from the University of Texas at Austin. Alexis then returned to Houston for law school, earning her JD from the University of Houston Law Center in 2008. Ms. Caughey’s diverse litigation experience spans three cities, two states, and a variety of subject matters ranging from business to construction-defect litigation. Alexis began her litigation career in Dallas at a small firm where her practice focused on business and commercial litigation. From there, Ms. Caughey moved to New Orleans, Louisiana, and defended a wide range of lawsuits, including those dealing with issues of construction, medical malpractice, general liability, and employment law. Ms. Caughey returned to Houston in 2015 and focused her practice on the areas of construction-defect and general liability defense litigation. Alexis is an enthusiastic and articulate advocate for her clients, and regularly appears in court, depositions, mediations, and arbitration proceedings on their behalves. While Ms. Caughey chose to be a lawyer because of the excitement a court-room posed, she is an accomplished legal writer with voluminous briefs and motions to her name. In her free time, Ms. Caughey can be found with her two young children and husband, eating, playing, and enjoying her beloved hometown.
