Thomas Ajamie

Thomas R. Ajamie is an internationally recognized trial lawyer who has represented investors and institutions in complex commercial litigation and arbitration for more than three decades. Chambers USA describes him as “relentless, energetic and intelligent” and “a hard-working and successful trial lawyer who never quits.” Over his career, Mr. Ajamie has recovered more than $1 billion for clients and successfully defended corporations in high-stakes litigation in the United States and abroad. Mr. Ajamie has won two of the largest awards ever handed down by an arbitration panel for investors, including a $429.5 million award. He has also won a record $112 million civil RICO jury verdict — the largest in United States history. He secured a $134 million settlement against AT&T in a partnership dispute over the forced buyout of minority interests and obtained a $79 million class action settlement against Wells Fargo on behalf of former financial advisors who were wrongfully forced to forfeit deferred compensation. His investor recoveries also include major settlements in cases involving Cobalt International Energy, Medical Capital, and Prudential Equity Group. Mr. Ajamie was among the first to uncover the misconduct of Harvey Weinstein, contributing to the producer’s downfall and the rise of the #MeToo movement. His work has been featured in The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, The American Lawyer, and on CNN, CNBC, NPR, and BBC. He is co-author of Financial Serial Killers: Inside the World of Wall Street Money Hustlers, Swindlers and Con Men and a frequent speaker on financial fraud, arbitration, and cross-border litigation. Mr. Ajamie has served on the FINRA National Arbitration and Mediation Committee and as an Arbitrator for the National Futures Association. He is a Life Fellow of the American Bar Foundation and serves on the Board of Directors of the Houston Grand Opera.
