I earned my B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Rice University and my J.D., cum laude, from the University of Houston Law Center. I am admitted to the State of Texas Bar and the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office. I bring a wide range of practical experience to my work, helping clients achieve their goals and enhance their intellectual property portfolios. My experience includes designing medical equipment, manufacturing tools, and specialized tools used by astronauts on the International Space Station. Additionally, I have worked on software design and development, as well as supporting enterprise software installations for a Fortune 500 company. I have drafted and prosecuted over 250 patent applications across the United States and in foreign jurisdictions. In this capacity, I advise inventors and clients on the patentability of inventions. Some of the patents I have worked on are standards-essential patents that generate licensing fees as a significant revenue stream. My practice focuses on mechanical, electrical, electro-mechanical, and software-related fields. I have drafted patent applications in areas such as down-hole sensing with fiber-optic instruments, cellular communications including 3G, 4G, and 5G technologies, wireless networking like Wi-Fi and Wi-Max, vacuum deposition tools including chemical vapor deposition and plasma-enhanced vapor deposition, security software, integrated circuit packaging technologies, VR headset displays, and down-hole mechanical tools. Beyond patents, I have also worked on trademark applications, negotiated contracts related to trademark registration, and advised clients on copyright matters and fair use exceptions.
