Melissa Renee Pendergrass

I focus solely on family law and have been practicing since 2005. As a native Floridian, I was raised in Central Florida and attended Tavares High School, Valencia Community College, the University of Central Florida, and FAMU College of Law. Before entering the legal field, I worked as a paramedic in an emergency room and also taught as an adjunct instructor in the Emergency Medical Services program at Lake Tech in Eustis, FL. After completing law school, I began my legal career at the State Attorney’s Office in Lake County, where I prosecuted both misdemeanor and felony cases. Following my time at the State Attorney's Office, I worked with private law firms that focused on criminal defense and family law. In September 2022, I made the decision to establish my own practice, A Better Direction Law, LLC, which is dedicated to providing families with guidance and options in how their cases are handled.
